1. Introduction

This statement is made by Adesto Recruitment Limited ("Adesto", "we", "us", "our") in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It covers the financial year ending 2026.

2. Our business and supply chain

Adesto is a UK healthcare temporary-recruitment business supplying qualified locum workers (nurses, doctors and allied health professionals) to client organisations. Our workforce comprises our own staff and self-registered / invited locum workers, all of whom are engaged and paid directly by us under PAYE. Our supply chain includes software, hosting and professional-services suppliers, and the professional bodies and training providers we work with to verify our workers.

3. Our commitment

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

4. Our policies and processes

• Right-to-work checks: we verify every worker's identity and legal right to work in the UK before they are supplied, and keep the required records.
• Worker vetting: all locum workers are required to provide identity documentation, references, professional registration and DBS checks, which we verify through our compliance process before a worker is placed.
• Direct engagement and PAYE: all locum workers are engaged directly by us and paid under PAYE, which helps prevent exploitative payment arrangements.
• Whistleblowing: our staff and workers can report concerns confidentially through our complaints process without fear of reprisal.
• Supplier standards: we expect our suppliers and business partners to operate to equivalent standards and to comply with all applicable laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

5. Due diligence

We carry out checks on the workers we supply and on our key suppliers, and we keep appropriate records. Where we become aware of any concern relating to modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chain, we will take it seriously, investigate it, and report it to the appropriate authorities.

6. Training

We provide our staff with information about modern slavery, how to spot the signs of exploitation, and how to report concerns, so that they can identify and escalate risks in the course of their work.
